Regenerative Medicine & Tissue Regeneration Therapy

At Hands On Wellness, we’re dedicated to helping you live a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle and ensure you’re healing when you experience injuries or are dealing with pain.

Tissue Regeneration Therapy is also known as TRT, Stem Wave Therapy, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (or ESWT), Acoustic Wave Therapy, or Soft Wave Acoustic TRT. Regardless of what you’ve heard it called, it’s a hugely beneficial treatment and can sometimes help you avoid surgery or live more pain-free and enjoy life. The orthogold100® device works by stimulating the self-healing mechanism in affected tissue at the cellular and vascular levels. SoftWaves fool the body into thinking an injury has occurred, and the body then initiates the natural biologic process of repair.

A Whole-Body Approach

Because true healing involves the whole body, TRT is often most effective as part of a broader care plan. Depending on your goals, you might pair it with chiropractic care, nutrition response testing, peptide therapy, or a bioenergetic scan to support your body’s overall function — not just the area of pain. Ask us how to best combine services suited to your specific needs.

Regenerative medicine is a growing field focused on helping the body repair and restore itself, including support for chronic pain. There are a number of approaches within this field, and one of our experienced, caring providers can help you build a plan suited to your specific needs.

TRT (Softwave Therapy) uses extracorporeal shock waves, which means it happens outside of the body. So, it’s not invasive like surgery. Avoiding surgery for joint pain means that you won’t have the recovery period including missing work or other activities.

Surgery also comes with inherent risks, which regenerative medicine and treatments can help you avoid. Using Stem Wave Therapy doesn’t require any anesthesia.

According to the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, “Shockwave therapy was originally developed to disintegrate urinary stones four decades ago. Since then, there has been remarkable progress regarding the knowledge of its biological and therapeutic effects.”

“Its mechanism of action is based on acoustic mechanical waves that act at the molecular, cellular, and tissue levels to generate a biological response,” adds the Journal.

Regenerative medicine is a promising medical field that is used to treat a range of diseases and conditions, including chronic pain. There are a variety of approaches, methods, and therapies to use and one of our experienced, caring providers can help you create your own customized plan to treat and reduce your pain.

Many people consider TRT after experiencing pain for more than six months without relief from other non-surgical approaches, such as physical therapy or over-the-counter medication. If pain has been limiting how you move or function day to day, TRT may be worth discussing with your provider.

Many patients notice some reduction in pain, swelling, and inflammation right after treatment. Healing continues gradually from there — most people see meaningful improvement within about three months, though full results can take up to a year. Some patients benefit from a second series of sessions two to four months after the first. Underneath the surface, this timeline reflects real physiological change: research shows increased blood vessel growth in the treated area within four to eight weeks, which supports your body’s natural repair process.

Your appointment is scheduled for about 15 minutes, though the treatment itself takes less than 5. The machine makes some noise during the session. You may feel discomfort over the area being treated — this is often a helpful sign, since pain-free tissue typically indicates healthy tissue, while discomfort points to the areas that need support. As you progress through a series of sessions, many patients notice that discomfort decreases as the area heals. Most patients tolerate the treatment well and experience no lasting side effects.

Hands On Wellness uses the OrthoGold100 for Tissue Regeneration Therapy. It’s a well-established device designed for precision and consistent results.

TRT can also stand for Testosterone Replacement Therapy — but that’s a different service, and if that’s what you’re looking for, we’re not the right fit. That said, Tissue Regeneration Therapy has also been used to support urological health, including helping some patients with erectile dysfunction and other urogenital concerns.
